Confidential and Christian Ministry to Those Experiencing Grief

Stephen Ministers are lay members of our Parish who are specially trained to listen and provide confidential support and encouragement to others who are in need. Stephen Ministry is distinctively Christian care giving for people going through difficult times or who are other wise in need of support in their lives.
Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry: The identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remains private. Do you need someone to listen, pray and stand beside you as you get through a challenging time? Stephen Ministers can be there for you.
Stephen Minister Training
Our training series (50 hours) is from Thursday evening, JANUARY ___th, 2026 until end of May 2026. Complete this APPLICATION as soon as possible, or contact Scott Wright at swright@stfrancisa2.org or 734-821-2121.
St. Francis of Assisi Parish team of Stephen Leaders offers the wonderful Stephen Ministry series training class experience (50 hours) at our parish every other year. Since our first commissioning in May 2006, we’ve commissioned in May of 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024, … 2026… …
Stephen Ministers Newly Commissioned:
Anne Darnell, Carl Opp, Cheryl Render, Daniel Myers, Julie Dreyer, & Marcy Morgan. 
Plus, we have one new Stephen Leader to be commissioned: Janel Antos.
In June 2024, St. Francis Parish with our pastor Fr. James commissioned six (6) Stephen Ministers. These dedicated people had been training for five months and ready to begin their caring ministry among us here at St. Francis. We thank God for all our Stephen Ministers and pray that God will bless their ministries. We’ll take time to pray for and show our support for this caring ministry and these people whom God has called and equipped for this important role.
