For all of these 
Special Collecitons:

1- an announcement is published in the weekly parish bulletin Forum,  on the week prior to & the week of the collection.

2- an announcement is submitted & read at all weekend Masses on the week of the collection.

Volunteers Needed to put together a display of information (perhps a poster and or a table). 
Examples: 
1- at the door of church before or after Masses (all six Masses on the weekend). 
2- in the Parish Activities Center during coffee and donuts on Sunday.

We may consider having a special collection for an organization that helps the poor & does not already get money from our tax dollars.

Your organization may want to submit a request for a special collection. 

Mail in a written request application for consideration in advance, by August 1, prior to the year of the collection.  (Please send in your application as soon as possible because we want to get a date on the calendar for you.)

In the request application please provide this informaiton: 

  • a contact name;
  • organization  name;
  • address;
  • phone number;
  • e-mail address;
  • web address;
  • organizational mission;
  • a statement that you do not seek to contradict the teachings of the Catholic Church;
  • anything you think we need to know about your work; 
  • a short, 250 word description about your organization which would be published in the parish bulletin if selected for a special collection.   Please also e-mail the description to: 
The St. Francis Parish Peace & Justice Committee will review the requests that are submitted by the application process, and suggest appropriate collections for the open dates.

The St. Francis Parish Social Ministry Office sets dates for these collections.  Normally the date is on the third Sunday of the month.
