Thank you to our catechists, aides and Children’s Liturgy of the Word leaders for volunteering to teach our Catholic Faith to our Parish children. Let us join together to bring the love of Jesus Christ into the lives of our children.
Teaching Religious Education, leading in the Children’s Liturgy of the Word, and assisting with the Middle School Youth Group are all ways that you can make a Faith difference in the life of a child. Signing-up to share your Faith teaches children to know their dignity as a child of God and helps give direction, focus and meaning to each child’s life. In return, you may find that you gain a deeper understanding of your own Faith. Many current volunteers speak of the positive difference that teaching the Catholic faith to children has made in their own lives.
Religious Education classes for children begin late September.
Teaching materials and support are provided. Even if you’ve never taught before, you can serve as a Religious Education Teacher or Aide. The requirements are a desire to share the Faith, a love of children, and a willingness to learn. To volunteer as a teacher or aide, please contact Ellen Ward at ward@stfrancisa2.org or call at 734-821-2132 or sign-up using the Religious Education Volunteer Form.
The Children’s Liturgy of the Word takes place at the 10:30 am Masses. At the time of the scripture readings during Mass, children in grades K-3 are invited to come forward and proceed to the chapel to listen to the readings and hear them explained at a child’s level. Children return to their parents at the time of the collection. Training and liturgical material are provided. Volunteers are needed to help lead during Sunday Masses. To volunteer, please contact Ellen Ward; ward@stfrancisa2.org or call 734-821-2130.
