Catholic House Build 2004
Photos & Reflections
Prior to Saturday, 2 x 4 window sills were removed and replaced with 3/4" plywood.

(Steve Polgar was on vacation & NOT on site August 21, so there was a substitute supervisor.)

On Saturday, August 21, 2004, our Habitat for Humanity construction manager was afraid the inspectors would not approve plywood so she had volunteers remove and replace them with ripped 2 x 4's to create the required gap under the windows.

Under the direction of Bill Dunphy (Good News House Leader), all of the siding materials, and PT lumber was cleared out to make ready for drywall.  The siding on the south side of the house was completed.  The insulation was about 99.9% completed.  The doorway to the second bedroom was re-framed to a 3'-0" opening per plans.  Soffits were installed in various areas to hide supply water lines.  During all previous work it was discovered that one wall was shifted to the north approx 3/4", it was banged closer to alignment and shot down with a hand held power actuated fastener.  Bill made sure the house got swept out in preparation for the insulation inspection and drywall installation.

Bill and Bob Whitacre (the other Good News House Leader) finished installing the insulation prior to our insulation inspection that we passed on August 23.

Master Key Northern, Inc. has graciously volunteered to donate drywall installation labor with mudding and taping to follow.  This should happen into the week of August 29.

Thanks for everyone's help in my absence.
