Habitat for Humanity,
Catholic House Build 2003
Photos & Reflections
With only one task to perform on June 21, a large crew was not requested.  Dan Blayer and I installed the stairs and adjacent walls going down to the basement.  The house is now ready for exterior and interior walls.  Thanks to the unknown volunteer from an adjacent house who straightened our side porch cement tubes so he could pour in his excess mixed cement.
Because of a serious lack of necessary funding to continue building, Saturday was supposed to be our last day working on the Catholic House until July 12.  This break would have allowed us time to acquire needed money to proceed.
However, we were given a reprieve by a most generous donation from the Cornerstone House (Lutheran, Presbyterian and Episcopal churches).  THANK YOU!  Words cannot describe the benefit this presents to the Catholic House Fundraising Committee and the 2003 Catholic House program in general, not to mention a much-needed moral boost.  This surprise, multi-thousand dollar gift prompted HVH4H to allow us to continue our immediate build schedule, but fundraising and donations are still crucial to our future schedule completion.
Walls should be delivered this week and installed on June 28.

Thanks to all,
