On Monday, August 26, more drywall was delivered and in the late afternoon three of us finished installing it on the basement stair walls.  On Wednesday evening, three volunteers from Rajala & Sons Finishes started doing the mudding and taping.  They returned on Saturday morning, August 31, to continue.  On Friday, Lee from Mr. Handyman, installed 5 interior doors.  Someone from Mr. Handyman will return at a later date to install more doors and interior trim.  Thank you for your generous labor donation.  Also on Saturday, volunteers worked on the porches, vinyl siding was installed on half the front gable, the remaining basement windows were installed and trimmed, shutters were installed and shingles were given a final trim.  Just before lunch Laura Stimpson dropped off drinks, cookies and (previously donated) money to pay for the pizzas that were delivered around noon.  Laura, thanks for leaving your party for us.  After lunch work continued.  Greg Mikol from B-Safe Electric, Northville, came after lunch to do some more electrical wiring.  We will have power in the house from now on, no more stringing a long extension cord from the power pole outside or the adjacent Habitat house.  A permanent location for the shed was cleared and boards laid down, they will be leveled and secured next Saturday.  Rajala & Sons Finishes promised to return through the week to finish and sand the walls.  Next Saturday is St. Andrew's Day, a large group from St. Andrew's, Saline, will start our interior prime and finish painting.  Thanks for everyone's help on this Holiday weekend.
