"Catholic House" a Habitat for Humanity Renovation Project at 835 Monroe Street, Ypsilanti.
This is a great opportunity for you to contribute to our local neighborhood. The money that you give to this project stays right in Ypsilanti. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, This house will be rehabilitated with the help of the homeowner (partner) family. The house will then be sold to the partner family at no profit, and financed with an affordable, no-interest loan. This Renovation Project is sponsored by a coalition of Catholic parishes and agencies in Washtenaw County. There are nine Catholic partners: St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Catholic Social Services, St. Thomas the Apostle Church, St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. John the Baptist Church of Ypsilanti, St. Patrick Church, St. Mary Parish Church, St. Joseph Church Dexter, & St. Andrew Church Saline.
This is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor -- sweat equity -- into building their Habitat house and the houses of others. Of course everyone interested in working on this project is welcome to participate. Complete the volunteer application form below and return it soon to the parish office.
Thank you for your generous contribution!
