preparation process to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the 8th
grade now begins in the 7th grade at St. Francis parish.

Registration Form Due
Please complete the
registration
form, including the name of your mentor/sponsor, and return it to the
Religious Education Office. If you child was not baptized
nor made their First Eucharist at St. Francis, please include a copy of
the candidate's baptismal certificate with the registration form.
Name of Sponsor: Please choose and indicate the name of your sponsor, filling
out the required information on the registration form.
Forms
documenting at least 10 hours
of service are due.

Meeting I
Confirmation preparation
meeting I for parents, sponsors (if available) and youth preparing for
the Sacrament of Confirmation is held in the Parish Activity Center (PAC).
The Confirmation candidate packet is handed out. Sponsor and youth
work begins on the Confirmation text.

only one of the two retreats that are scheduled.

3" by 5")- sized photo of candidate is to be included
with the form.

Presentation Mass in
Church
Candidates are presented
to the parish during Mass, profess their faith, and are blessed as they
continue their journey towards Confirmation. Sponsors are recognized
and honored at this Mass.

Interviews of Candidates
An oral report about
the Saint/holy person chosen for the Confirmation name will be asked of
the candidate at the interview. The Confirmation text will be checked
for completion. Understanding of the Sacrament will be reviewed and
the candidate's desire for Confirmation determined.

Dress Guidlines:
Girls:
Modest dress with sleves, or skirt and top with sleeves, dress slacks,
dress shoes and stockings.
Boys:
Dress shirt, dress pants, dress shoes (Sport coat, suit, and tie is optional).
Certificates:
Certificates for Confirmation and Sponsor certificates will be available
in the PAC after Mass.
During
this exciting time, young people often find they have many questions about
their faith and life’s choices. The preparation process for Confirmation
provides a time to explore one’s Catholic identity and what it means to
be a follower of Jesus Christ. We look forward to working with you
and your student.
