Returning Catholics: A Ministry of Compassion and Reconciliation
We know that life always has ups and downs, twists and turns. Maybe you decided to leave decades ago or maybe it was just this morning. Maybe you never really decided one way or the other, but just sort of drifted away. Maybe you felt burned or betrayed by an individual who was supposed to represent the Church. Maybe you thought the Church was too full of hypocrites or maybe you thought you were too much of a hypocrite to stay. Whatever your situation, we want to be very clear that there is a place for you here with us!
How do I return?
If you simply stopped coming on your own, all you need to do is make a good confession! We offer confessions every Saturday starting at 3:30 pm or by appointment. If you would like to talk to someone about how to go to confession beforehand, please contact us and we would be happy to help you. Do not be afraid, ashamed, or embarrassed if it has been awhile and you do not really remember how to go to confession, any priest will be happy to assist you!
What if I am divorced?
We understand that there are many people who shoulder the weight and pain of divorce. Let us help you bear the load. The first step is to contact us and set up an appointment. We can help you find healing and closure.
What if I was baptized Catholic, but missed First Communion?
You’re not alone! If Catholicism is mostly new to you, it is probably best for you to look at our RCIA process. RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Please contact us and we can help you find the right process for your situation.
What if I was raised Catholic and still practice my faith, but missed Confirmation?
Again, you’re not alone! The usual preparation is 6 weeks following Easter Sunday with Confirmation celebrated on Pentecost. Each situation is different. Please contact us and we will make sure that you get into the right spot.
What if my question was not covered on this page?
Don’t worry! No matter what your situation is, we can help you return to the Catholic Church. Please contact us, we would love to hear from you and offer help or advice in whatever way we can!
